1: Do U(X) Believe In Magic?

This talk explores how magic can inform our understanding of how humans behave, and how that can help when designing digital products.

I cover three aspects of UX: storytelling, attention, and delight, and show the similarities that exist between a magic performance and the use of a digital product.

I've given this talk at DesignLab (Sept 2019), Horizons (Oct 2019) and discussed parts of it on the Nodes of Design podcast (May 2020).

2: Visions 2020

This talk looks at the properties of a great product vision, and how having a clear vision is a pre-requisite for any product strategy.

I also cover the flaws of two traditional methods of crafting vision statements (the canvas and the UVP template) and prseent two new frameworks that solve those flaws: Hills and Storytelling.

I've given this talk at ProductTank London (June 2020); you can watch a recording of it here.

I'd love to speak at your event! Just drop me a line and I'll get back to you asap.
